Yesterday was HALLOWEEN!!!!! I actually went to Gram's neighborhood to Trick-or-Treating, not mine neighborhood. Vincent, Summer, Lucas, Gram, Tuan Tuan, Ru-shan, and Ru-song were ALREADY THERE(so technically I'm LaTE\TaRDy)! But we didn't even stop to play, we just went Trick-or-Treating immediately! I DID get to show off my costume, though. I liked everybody's costume, too. Then, we were off! I got some good stuff, like Rees's, Hershey's, Twix, Rice Krispy, Bubblegum, M&M's, Sour Patch, Skittles, and Kit Kat. The bad one was FRUIT CHEWS. They were so yummy at first, but then got a vomit\barf\throw-up flavor! So when we got back to Gram's house, we traded chocolate bars and candy, shared it, and watched a soccer game! I loved that day so much . . . 😢

Today I will tell you about my PowerPoint (All About Paris) . Mrs. Suddendorf assigned it a few weeks ago, and I was super excited about it. I started writing the essay about Paris (on paper) . When I was done, I did some spelling checks, grammar checks, and capitalization checks. When I was done with that, I started my PowerPoint! When I was working on it, I also used the designer (a thing you'll find on the HOME slide) . I got cool backgrounds there! When I was done with the whole thing, I did some Transitions, and made them look super-duper cool! I'm really starting to love PowerPoints, a lot . . .

Today I will tell you how my presentation went! Liya W. went first. She didn't say ANYTHING, so Mrs. Suddendorf assumed that she didn't want to present. The next one was Leah G. She did her's about Las Vegas, which I liked. Then was another person, and another, and another. Finally, it was MY turn to present, and I was a little bit worried. Would they like it? How would they think of it? I thought about it. I guess it doesn't matter. I read the title out loud. I read everything else clearly and boldly, and I got a lot of claps. I really am starting to get over my "Stage Fright" thing.😋

Today I went to Pioneer Farm! We first took a VERY long and BORING bus ride. I was going to die of dehydration!!! Finally, we were there (Pioneer Farm) ! We first went to the Activity Cabin. The guide (for now) told us to sit on the rug, and said that we could do ANY of the activities! I chose: kneading dough, grinding coffee beans, and making cornmeal. Then we moved on to the barnhouse. I jumped down a place and landed in a big haystack! I also petted a horse, a cow, and a bunny. Then we got to saw REAL wood! Then, we were off to candle-making. We dipped a string into the wax (any color you want) , dipped it into the water, and repeat that until the candle is as wide as your thumb. The we ate lunch. And after that, we went home.

Today I am doing my REAL mobile book report! I just finished "Balto and the Great Race".
The main characters are Balto who is a boy Siberian husky and his owners Gunnar Kaasen and Leonhard Seppala. Balto is excited and intelligent dog who has excellent sense of direction and can lead the pack with confidence. Kaasen and Seppala are middle-aged Alaskan men mushers (the sled drivers), who live with Balto and other 19 huskies in Nome. Kaasen and Seppala are friends and both experienced mushers. They also co-own Balto .The setting in the story happens in a town named Nome in Alaska, a small, isolated, and FREEZINGLY COLD town, usually covered in snow and ice because of the LOW TEMPRETURES that are 40-20 degrees below 0 degree. It is hundreds of miles away from other cities and there is no roads linking Nome to the rest of the state. During the winter in 1925, some children had caught a disease called "Diphtheria" , which started with sore throats and fevers, and gradually became very deadly. Nome did not have the medicine to treat the disease, and the medicine was available in another town called Nenana which is 650 miles away. There is no roads linking Nome to the rest of the state. The only way to get the medicine was to use dogsled to get to Nenana. Nome asked all the best, most experienced mushers to use DOGSLED to bring the medicine from Nenana to Nome. On the way, the lead dog refused to move on because of a HEAVY SNOWSTORM. Balto barked franticly at Kaasen and showed that he knew the trail. As soon as Kaasen made Balto the lead dog by, the puppy immediately sped forward. Once, Kaasen's pack crashed landing on the snow and lost the crate that held the medicine. Kaasen searched with his hands and miraculously found the crate. Later, Seppala's pack accidentally fell in a cold river! Luckily the musher was experienced, and saved them by yanking them out of the water. Luckily, the pack successfully brought the medicine to Nome, and saved more than 100 lives! This story ends with a happy ending.

Today I did some final touches with my Book Report Mobile pictures, and I really like it. I drew a picture of a husky (Balto) , and a medicine crate on a sled. For the "Setting", I drew a picture of Nome, and a map of Alaska. I then did some work like piano, math, chess, Chinese, and outdoor sports. I then played video games! I played Rayman Legends, a fighting game. I loved this day!!!

Today I had art class! We worked on our paper landscape thingamabob. I already had done the landscape, so I did some details. I made a factory, a car, a house, and a train on a bridge! I asked everybody for some advice, and I got some. Leah G said that there were no trees, and that I should add some. I agreed, and bought a tree. I ended up having two landscapes, on on the front, one on the back. I think I did pretty good, as I made a train, a bridge, trees, a factory, a car, and house!

Today I had to go swimming! I was very scared. What would it be like? I was shocked when we started at the deep end. "I thought we were supposed to start on the other end!" I said. It was actually okay, and I made it! She then held out a blue-yellow "thingamajig" you put in-between your legs. You only can use your hands to paddle yourself. I managed to hold it until the halfway line. Then, it just popped out. Them, it was time for jumps. I was good with that, but then everybody got onto the diving board! I needed help, so I asked. Then I got help one more time, and then I jumped without help! I learned something: don't be scared of deepness, because you will always float up if you hold your breath.

Today I finished my doggie report (mobile book report) ! I first cut out 4 equal rectangular shapes and glued the character writing and the matching picture. Then, I repeated that step until there were no pictures nor writing to glue. Then, I taped ribbon on to all the pictures and writing. I next made the title thingamabob. Finally, I taped all the writing and pictures to the title. Then, you have it.

Today I will tell you all about me. My status is school is pretty good, I often get compliments, and I ace all tests. For soccer, I pass the ball pretty well, shoot hard, and stop the ball well. On chess, I can win on most endgames, do most tactics, and manage to play to the end. On Chinese, I can write well, pronounce words correctly. On piano, I can play Skeleton Stomp and Angelfish. That is my status for now.

Today I had a CHA Second Grade Social Party! We were told that it was at "Flying Squirrel" , and it is the worlds LARGEST, most FUN place!!! But on the way to the Flying Squirrel, Grandpa took the wrong exit⏎ , so we were late by 37 minutes, 41 seconds. When we got there, we had to show our wafer to the front desk. He asked what we were here for, and I said that we were here for the CHA social. He lead us to the back of the building, and got our [purple] wristbands. We then were off, and headed to the housey-looking-thinmabob. It was a maze, and had cool stuff. Then, I ran into Kelly, and we went to the jump-off area. I can do a front-flip, a twist, and a cannonball. Then, we did a single-log-bridge-hands-on-fight! I got the hang of it, and I can defeat almost everybody! Then, it was snack time, and I grabbed a lot of stuff. I'm happy!🍪

Today I read a book called "Who is Franklin D. Roosevelt?" .
Roosevelt was born on January 30, 1882, in Hyde Park, New Yolk. Quite a long time ago, since it is 2022. He never went to school, and Roosevelt was taught by his family until he was thirteen. When he turned fourteen, his parents sent him to Groton Boarding School. There, Roosevelt learned to like sports. He then graduated from Gorton, and entered Harvard. Roosevelt was a natural at writing, and he met his cousin named Eleanor. They eventually got married, and gave birth to FIVE CHILDREN!!! Roosevelt wasn't interested in farming, he was interested in politics. Roosevelt decided to run for office. He defeated his opponent by 1,440 votes! I'll continue tomorrow.

Today I will continue from yesterday. When World🌎War☢️I started, Roosevelt urged the Navy to scatter mines everywhere, so the ships would be safer. When the war ended in 1918, Roosevelt went to Paris to attend the peace treaty conference. When that was over, he was ready to have a private life again. It was also 1920-a president election day. He wasn't elected. Back in Campobello, Roosevelt has been felling sick. Doctors exclaim Roosevelt, and say that he has polio. He cannot walk himself now, and needs steel braces for his legs to walk. Roosevelt tried EVERYTHING TO MAKE HIM WALK AGAIN! Then, he found a place called Warm Springs, which had a swimming pool. When he got in, it was 90ºF, pretty much a hot tub! He learned to live fully. Roosevelt is determined to run for office again, but he wants to walk again. So he kept in touch by using letters and telephone calls. In 1924, Democratic Party🎉asked Roosevelt to nominate Al Smith. Everybody cheered! In 1928, he was elected governor of New Yolk, and won by only 25,000 votes! But in 1929, Wall Street stock market crashed. It was the beginning of the great desperation. By 1932, 12 MILLION PEOPLE LOST THEIR JOBS. That is when Roosevelt decided to run for PRESIDENT. He actually only missed 6 states this time! In the first 100 days, he created jobs for people who didn't have jobs. In 1936, he ran for president again.🔃This time, he only missed 2 states!!!Since he was president, Eleanor wrote memos about what Roosevelt did wrong. The stack grew, and then he said "Only 3 memos a night." . Roosevelt has his schedule, too. He wakes up at 8:00, reads the newspaper, eats breakfast, dresses up, and at 10:00, he went to his office. Then, he has lunch around 1:00. he then took care of his papers and mail. Then, he would go for a swim, and have dinner. Then, he would watch a movie or worked on his stamp collection. I will continue another day!

I like skiing, (it's fun) chess, (requires skill) Titans FC and Bellevue United, drones, (although I don't have one) RC cars, (racing) Nerf Guns, (target practice) books, (interesting) trains, (cool) candy, (sweet) chocolate, (yum) pasta,(YUM) pizza,(YUM) computers, (FUN) video games (Rayman!!) , food, (I need it) balls, (FUN) and my bed. (cozy)

Today Is The Last Day Of The Trimester!!! Oh boy! I will tell you what happened. I got in the classroom, put all my stuff away, and read a book. After about 15 minutes, Mrs. Suddendorf told us that we were going to make a Thanksgiving pies!🥧We have to write what your thankful for, cut the pie's perimeter, glue it onto cardstock, cut the lines, and draw the subject on the cardstock. I made mine "Cheery Pie" with the strips! Then it was recess! I played Fly Ball (technically it was a football🏈) , and I caught it multiple times! Then it was lunch. I had a sandwich,🥪and I ate it. Nom nom nom!
After lunch, it was time to make turkeys with things that your thankful for!🦃I made the "Original Burkey" With: Brown feathers, Yellow feet, A Black hat, a red thingamabob, and a Yellow beak. Then it was Physical Beducation (P.E.) , and the warm-up was something about CONCENTRATION. The REAL game was basically tag with balls, a boundary, and hideouts. It was FUN!
Then, it was library time. It was actually CHECK-OUT, and nobody knew. But we could still check-out 1 book. I checked out a book about Robots and Drones. Then, it was more turkey time! After that was music. I had lots of fun trying out pool instruments. Them we packed up and ZOOOM!!🛫Went home.

Isaac Newton was born on January 4, 1642 in Lincolnshire, England. 3 months ago, his dad had died. So, when Newton was three, his mom re-married Barnabas Smith. However, when Newton was 10, his stepdad died, and moved back.
Newton went to the local village school, which was too easy for him, so his mom sent him to The King's School. Since it was 7 miles away, Newton moved to Clarke family in town. Clarke was a "Apothecary" , and by helping him, Newton learned some basic chemistry. At school, he rose up to the top by studying, and learned some arithmetic and geometry. His mom wanted him to use his knowledge to become a farmer, but Newton didn't want to.
He eventually went to Cambridge Univershity to work as a servant for other people. His classes were about Aristotle, a greek philosopher who believed in anything that made sense to HIM. He was usually wrong because he didn't test his ideas first, like when he said that ALL THE PLANETS *including the sun* orbits around Earth. Newton also read about a man named Nicolaus Copernicus. I will continue the day after tomorrow!

Today I read about Navy SEALs. This book says that the history of SEALs goes back to World🌍War💣II, where the US was fighting against Germany, Japan, and Italy. The military needed a special group that could help troops on enemy beaches. The result was that they formed the scouts and raiders. Eventually, they became Navy SEALs.If you want to become a SEAL, you need to pass✅a fitness test. For example, swim 500 yards in 12 or less. They need to pass a drown - proof test, and learn how to use weapons and maps. They also have to jump off a helicopter that is 9500 feet in the air! Some of the SEAL's gear are: Scuba gear, Combat rubber raiding rafts, The M4A1 carbine, The M-14, and the M136 AT4.

Today I will continue from the day before yeasterday. Copernicus disagreed with Aristotle, and said that all the planets orbit around the sun. Aristotle also said that heavy objects fall faster than lighter objects. Another man named Galileo disagreed. He said that anything the same shape, size, or weight falls equally. from those people, Newton learned something: it doesn't matter if the idea seems right, it has to match. Newton then visited a fair, and at the fair he did find a bookseller, and he bought a book. In the book, Newton found some math that he didn't understand, so he bought a book to teach him that. But he didn't understand the book he bought to understand the book he bought at the fair, so he bought another book to teach him the BASICS. But in 1665, the disease plague broke out in England. I will continue another day!

Today I woke up excited to start the day. I dressed up, ate breakfast, and brushed my teeth and washed my face. Then, mommy asked me to clean up the playroom for our visitors (Ru-shan, Ru-song, Lucas, Vincent, Gram, Tuan-Tuan, and Summer) . After that, mommy told me to play piano until you need to go to piano class. I did pretty well there, based on daddy's experience. Then, it was lunchtime. The food was okay. Then, I played with my RC car, and taught Kyle some soccer. Then, mommy told me to do some TestPrep language arts. Then, I read about Ulysses S. Grant. Now, I am doing my diary.

Today I woke up VERY TIRED. Grandpa woke me up at 7:30! I dressed up in my United Soccer FC jersey, and I got in the car. Breakfast was waiting for me, and I gobbled it down (I ate half) . When we got there, in was COLD. Coach Tian wasn't here, so one of the parents were substituting. In the first half, the opponents were more experienced kids, and most of them scored a hat trick (3 goals in one game) ! On the second half, I was ambushed by a kid who has bad sportsmanship. He pushed me into the wall, and I banged my head HARD. Good news now. Another kid helped us, and he was pretty good. The score was 20-25 vs. 1. We lost BADLY. I will do better next time.😟

Today I read a chapter of "Mrs. Piggle-Wiggle's Magic ". Christopher Brown is a nice, red-haired boy who plays baseball and has excellent grades. The ONLY thing bad about him is that he doesn't have any table manners. That usually isn't a problem, but in this case, it is. Christopher's friend Dick Thompson invited him to watch African movies with Hubert Prentiss and Larry Gray. Mrs. Brown thought that everybody would see that Chris would have TERRIBLE table manners. So, they called Mrs. Piggle-Wiggle to help. She sent a pig🐷named Lester to show Christopher how to have good table manners. Eventually, Christopher had PERFECT table manners, and Mrs. Thompson complimented him by having PERFECT table manners.

Today I read about Tattletales in Mrs. Piggle-wiggle's Magic. The characters are Wendy Hamilton who is a nine year-old girl that likes to tattle. Timmy Hamilton is Wendy's brother, and he is seven years old. The setting is at their home in winter, and in the present. The problem is that at school, Wendy hates everybody and everybody hates her because she tattles a lot. Timmy also tattles sometimes, and Mrs. Hamilton can't stand it. The solution is that Mrs. Piggle-Wiggle gives Mrs. Hamilton some pills, and told her to give those to the children. Whenever the children want to tattle, a cloud of smoke appears from their mouths that stop them from tattling. I think tattling isn't good because you won't have any friends.

Today I read about Zheng He (or Ma He) who was born in Kunming, Yunnan, in 1371. He was taught in Chinese and Arabian, and he had a sense of powerful curiosity and imagination. But in 1381, the dominant Mongol power of Yuan collapsed, and the new power of Ming kidnapped the youngsters. Ma He was sent to Beijing to be Prince Zhu Di's attendant. In 1402, Zhu Di became emperor of Ming, and Ma He was now known as Zheng He.
Zhu Di wanted Ming to be as powerful as it can, for example strengthening the Great Wall, building the Grand Canal, and fighting the Mongols off. Zhu Di also wanted to create the largest Navy in the world! And Zheng He chose to be the commander of the fleet. The center of the fleet is 62 treasure ships that transport goods for trading. The small boats around the treasure ships are battle ships to supply the sailors with what they need.
At first, Zheng He tested his fleet by taking short journeys, and to train his sailors. On his first voyage, Zheng He went to Champa, Java, Sumatra, Malacca, Ceylon, and Calicut. But on his way back, Zheng He was attacked by PIRATES! Luckily, the fleet won the battle. Eventually, the fleet traveled all around Asia in 6 voyages, and China became pretty much un-defeatable. Zheng He died at the age of 62 in 1433. I think he is a brave, curious, intelligent person.

Today I watched 2 World Cup games! The first one was Portugal vs. Ghana. (by the way, Ghana is in West Africa, and Portugal is in West Europe) In Portugal is Cristiano Ronaldo, my fan. In the first half, He tried to score, but failed several times. In the second half, Ronaldo scored in a penalty kick! The second goal by Portugal was a nice pass into the net. The third goal was another nice pass into the net. But based on Ronaldo, I think he didn't do as good as I thought. I thought he would score lots of goals.
The second game was Brazil vs. Serbia. I didn't see the first half, since I was practicing piano. In the second half, mom told me that a man named Neymar got fouled at least 5 times already. The first goal was by a man named Richardson. he caught the rebound from another shot and scored! The second goal was also from him. This time, a winger passed to Richardson, he kicked it up and using the bicycle kick, he shot it in! I'm really sorry for Neymar, though. He got fouled at least 10 times, even though Brazil won. I like world cups!

Today I will talk about Roman legions, founded 753 BC. All legionaries used the same weapons and armor, so that they could coordinate their tactics. Their smart, intelligent, and groovy tactics are . . . while other soldiers CHARGE into battle, the Roman legionaries line up, and at the LAST MINUTE, they CHARGE into battle. When the Roman legionaries are attacked by the enemy archers, they joining together and form a "tortoise" by lifting their shields above their heads. This excellent formation protects their heads from getting hit by enemy arrows. Some other formations are the "Tortoise Formation", the "Cannae Formation", and the "Wedge Formation". Some their weapons are a Pila (javelin) , a Scutum (shield) . I think the Roman legionaries are very smart for thinking that. I will talk about KNIGHTS next!

Today I will talk about "The Medieval Knight". Knights wore full suits of armor that protected them from everything but the strongest hits and blows. First that was made of small, connected rings, and then gradually developed into heavy, metal plates that were SO MUCH STRONGER, but a LOT heavier. The main tactic is charging. The knights spurred their horses to FULL GALLOP, and used their lances to to h]the heart of enemy formations. Lances usually shattered on impact, so after charging, the knights used weapons like the Poleax or the Longsword. Knights also use a variety of helmets and weapons. Some of the weapons are . . . the Winged Spear, the Poleax, the Flanged Mace, the War Hammer, the Flail, and the Longsword. Some of the helmets are . . . the Great Helmet, the Bascinet, the Frog - Mouth Helmet, the Sallet, the Armet, and the Barbute. My favorite is the Armet and the Poleax. I will talk about Sophie Mouse tomorrow!

Today I read about Sophie Mouse: Winter's no time to sleep! Sophie Mouse woke up in her bed, and outside the window was snow! She jumped out of her bed and ran down the stairs. She opened the front door, and outside was lots and lots of SNOW! She helped make some blueberry pancakes with her dad, eat breakfast, and put on her snow boots, leggings, coat, hat, and scarf. Then, she rushed out to meet her friends, Owen and Hattie. They first went sledding. Hattie peeled some birch bark off of the tree, and since Hattie did it, she rode on it first. She went pretty far. Then, Owen rode on the sled, and he slid a little bit further than Hattie. Then it was Sophie's turn. She slid so far and fast that she crashed into a bush! But suddenly, the bush started squeaking! It turns out, the squeaking was Pippa the porcupine. Sophie, her friends and Pippa played sledding, built a snow mouse, had an epic snowball fight, and went ice skating. But then, she remembered that her scarf was lost! They searched everywhere, and finally Pippa found it on the snow mouse. Then, all of them went to Pippa's house\nest to make her fall asleep. After they did that, Sophie and her friends all went home to sleep.

Today I read about "Wayside School is falling down". I read the chapter Bebe's baby brother. It is about a girl named Bebe Gunn, who is not doing well in her grades except art. One day, when Mrs. Jewels was passing out homework, Mrs. Jewels told Bebe to come. On the the back, Bebe wrote: "Mrs. Jewels is as fat as a hippo!" She told Mrs. Jewels it was her baby brother Ray Gunn, and Mrs. Jewels gave her an A+, and a Tootsie Roll Pop. This happened over and over again, until Mrs. Jewels called Mrs. Gunn. Mrs. Jewels told her what happened, and Mrs. Gunn told Mrs. Jewels that they didn't have a Ray. That's when Mrs. Jewels found out that Bebe was lying the whole time.

I know that tomorrow is the last day of November! It is also been the first snow day since hmmmmmm . . . . . NINE MONTHS!!! Whoa. In the first recess, everybody went CRAZY!!! I played snow soccer, and it was very fun. Our team won, and in the second recess, I blocked a ABNORMAL CRAZY-FAST SHOT!!! It was in the middle, and I blocked it. We went on to win 3-4! What a day!
November 30 2022!?
TODAY IS THE LAST DAY OF NOVEMBER! I AM SOOO EXCITED! Today I read about Joy in the 27th chapter in Sideways Stories from Wayside School. She is on the 30th floor in Mrs. Jewels's class. One day, Joy forgot her lunch. She saw that Dameon had a sandwich, a apple, and a chocolate cake. Then Joy got an IDEA. She first ate the apple and put it on Deedee's desk. She then ate the sandwich and put the baggie on Jason's desk, and ate the cake and put it on Allison's desk. She reported them all (technically their innocent) , which tells me that she's sneaky.
